Since the founding of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in 1961, the Office of American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) has proudly contributed to the achievement of the Agency’s goals as articulated in its recently adopted mission statement: “We partner to end extreme poverty and promote resilient, democratic societies while advancing our security and prosperity.”
